To "maintain" means to preserve, to keep in due condition, or specified state. Carpets lifespan is not only determined by how much commercial traffic or types of soils you have, but in most cases it's how you clean and "maintain" your carpet investment. DryCare Hawaii specializes in commercial & hospitality carpet, upholstery, and office panel maintenance, backed by the largest manufacture of textile carpets. With national support and product research, we go above and beyond your basic "carpet cleaner". CLEAN & DRY = NO MOLD....heavy wet extraction soaks the backing and pad, without air flow beneath the carpet surface it starts smelling musty and becomes a breeding ground for mold! Continuous extraction cleaning also leads to delamination (fibers coming away from backing), premature color loss, and rapid resoiling are due to heavy soaps and solvents. MilliCare dry carpet cleaner extends to need for such extraction, using waterbased surfactants as the premist and our proprietary dry carpet cleaner we brush it deep into the carpet fiber removing soils and odors, then we just vacuum it up in just 20 minutes.

So what about the other cleaning systems?

Bonnet/Spin Pad Cleaning:

This is the cleaning process not recommended by almost all carpet manufactures, and for most will void it's carpets warranties. The advantages are low-cost, fast-cleaning for large areas, and low level operator skill, but the disadvantages far override them. High resoiling due to residue left behind, detwisting/matting of carpet fiber, low level of soil removal, streaks/swirl marks, surface cleaning only (tips), requires wet extraction to remove chemicals built up from need of consistent cleaning cycles. All this process does is spreads and grinds the soils into the carpet, causing carpets to "ugly out" and require premature carpet replacement.

Host:

Host is listed in the same category of dry carpet cleaning products, but differ in many properties. It's  ground corn cob/wood shaving mixture is basically non-absorbent, is difficult to remove when vacuuming and is solvent/detergent based. The coverage rate per square foot per pound is much lower than our dry polymer 30sf per pound to 150sf per pound. The biggest difference is you can buy the host machines and chemicals (very expensive), MilliCare only sells it's services saving customers administrative costs, equipment maintenance, repair and chemical storage costs, and consistent operator turn-over and re-training.

Steam/Hot Water Extraction:

This may be good for restorative or residential cleaning, but shouldn't be used on a continuous maintenance schedule. The reason is because repeated extraction with excess water is like constant flooding, the water will soften the waterbased adhesive damaging the bond between fiber and backing. This will cause delamination or creating waves in the carpets, once this happen the carpet is basically damaged. Heavy wet extraction in areas with central air conditioning and no airflow such as in building corridors, office space, even some ballrooms can lead to and promote bacterial and fungal growth. The musty wet mop smell is a common sign this may be happening.
